October  2020 Monthly Update

A Huge round of A-PAWS to Sutumed CORP who just donated thousands of sutures to our Bali based CNVR (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Release) program.

Sutures are an essential part of our sterilizing projects and this donation means months of events covered, hundreds of animals helped and millions of lives saved!

SAMUI CNVR UPDATE
(Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Release)
Last month we launched the Samui CNVR project – a partnership with our friends at
DCRS – Dog and Cat Rescue Samui Foundation
.
This is a very important project in tacking the problems of Dog overpopulation.
We have a target of doing 100 dogs over the next six months, in September we did 8 dogs, this is a great effort over only two weeks. Bearing in mind it can take several attempts over several days to catch dogs, and some of the dogs that were caught were dogs that nobody else has been able to catch for years.
So far this program has prevented the unwanted births of 536,000 dogs!
We offer a round of A-PAWS to
Beverley Makemson
who manages the darting program, her husband
Adam Makemson
who has helped catch several dogs & supplies transport.
Chalarm Wesley
our resident dog catcher.
Kun Goon from DCRS – the expert darter.
We have 28 more on the “urgent” list that we need to get through ASAP.
How’s a bike different from a trike?
Not much. There’s really only one wheel difference. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you to all who donated to our Motorcycle sidecar fundraiser! 🙏
We now have our new transport (pictured).🛺
We desperately needed this for our Samui S&N program, we used it this past Saturday & we so happy at all the extra equipment she could carry & the animals she could offer to deliver due to having the space in the sidecar.
We raised 15,000thb (Approx $700aud) for the bike – however the lovely man who sold us the bike gave us a HUGE discount once he found out it was going to be used to help animals! 🐾🐾🐾🐾
So we could put the spare money into our Samui S&N events.
A big round of A-PAWS to our Saleng donors:

Kaye Case
Deanne Hassett
Theodosia Lucas
Heather Barry
Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram
Lindsey Archbold
Emmie Poutsma
Anne Louise Murphy

On Saturday the 10th of October we our usual monthly pop-up sterilization event.
We sterilized a total of 14 animals – 6 of which were female dogs & 5 of which were female cats. Which according to PETA estimates is over 2.2 MILLION dogs and cats that will not be born into a lifetime of neglect.
You can check out the photos in our Samui Sterilizing Photo album.
We try to run these community sterilization events at least every month, this month we are running another one on the 31st of October as well as continuing with our CNVR (darting) partnership with DCRS – Dog and Cat Rescue Samui Foundation.
We have a HUGE list of dogs and cats to get through – please consider becoming a regular donor:

Sandra, Sylvie, Fiona, Tanner & Wesley for all donating to help cover costs and enable us to offer free spots to really needy dogs & cats.
