TERRI’S HAPPY HOUNDS – JANUARY 2021

Look who I found today…. Queen Cookie..Fat and fine.. after 3 months… either she’s found her way “ home “ or the man has moved back …. and today’s pictures of sweet cuddly brindle boy- gentle with impeccable manners..now named Shawn, in memory of a remarkable young man taken far too soon…
Thanks to Marie from the French School Lamai for some very nutritious and tasty extras to mix with the dog biscuits- such a treat and they love the variety … so sorry you’re having to close again because of COVID- your kindness is very much appreciated…
Little Fluff Puff is 3 months overdue a trim.. she’s carrying half of the saw mill round in her fur!!
And thanks to Natalie for her kind donation of children’s clothes and shoes- which was very well received.. they still need more.. particularly 3 year old.. ish boy stuff and shoes..if you’ve got anything please let me know
Crazy heartbreaking month just gone by with sicknesses and disappearances… some good news too though…Ree ( Handsel) is around- starving , skinny and too scared to go back to his pack- think he’s in a routine with me now.. as long as he’s not displaced again…hopefully he’ll be safe long enough to get him sterilized after Soi Dog get here… he’s in same spot most lunchtimes…Alice his mum is very well but hates me- ( as ive had her tranquillized twice) so just runs away as soon as she hears my truck- but she looks good and must be getting food somewhere??….Queen Cookie is also back on her same spot every day.. very pleased to see me..don’t know where she’s been for the last 3 months..
Phil is eating well- obviously healthier- his face wound completely healed, his coat soft and shiny and putting on weight- sadly the neighbour’s dogs now run onto his land since the family have left and abandoned him- and they terrorize him – he only crawls out from the enclosed dark space at the back of the house whilst I’m there and runs straight back as soon as I head back to the car- so very sad for this gentle old boy…
A good day all in all ..53 found and fed today- 3 missing- Nina still in foster care awaiting her new furever home.. and I visited and checked and fed the camp of 12 yesterday and gave them food for approximately 9 days…
My eternal thanks to Jasmine Puranen Cheyna Ashley Stewart Wes Silver for your help, dedication and care- many hands make light work.. and because of you all my back is healing- and to Katelyn and Johnny who are just learning the route and are loved by all the dogs already and to Phil Bradford who is kindly not only assisting me- but is going to be taking on the huge task of shopping and cooking/ prep whilst I’m incapacitated… thank you all from the bottom of my heart- you cannot imagine the relief it is to have been blessed to meet so many people who care …
Please please vote and share- we desperately need to win this- you do NOT have to donate-( you can just scroll down each page and submit)- but please vote and share… it’s easy…Samui dogs need you..and PLEASE DIARY TO VOTE ONCE A WEEK…

Raven was hit by a motor bike on Thursday- going far too fast- her injuries looked very severe – she couldn’t use her back legs but luckily she gave up trying to escape after 100 m deep jungle and submitted- thanks to the brave determination of Cheyna Ashley Stewart we were able to tie her and pick her up and get her to dog rescue center at Taling Ngam- with the terrible month just gone by- huge vets bills – I desperately need your help  donate anything to them towards her care I would be very grateful…

Today a very special and emotional day for beautiful Nina.. after more than a month in fantastic foster care with Melanie Alexander – she finally got her furever home… initial indications are all good and the existing dog loves her- so fingers crossed all goes well and for a speedy integration. special thanks to Penny for the huge amount of work and effort she’s put into making this happen whilst I’ve been indisposed!!
As you all know- with financial and personal global devastation the number of abandoned dogs has doubled as has the number of families who need help with everything including their pets- who are malnourished and often sick as a result of zero preventative meds and no access to veterinary services… with now 70 on average to feed and care for- it is unsurprising that 4 or 5 are sick at any point in time- requiring medical care…veterinary tests are expensive and my food bill has also doubled… so if you can donate or subscribe any amount helps.. please share.. and if you are able to foster or adopt.. I have many candidates… please please get in touch..
Huge thanks to Samuel Fila, Param Dhyan Khaur and Elena Yan for your donations to Dog Rescue- for Raven who was hit hard by a speeding bike Thursday 21 January- she’s ok- thank goodness no internal injuries and she’s healing- whilst miserable in a kennel- she is staying there until they can get her sterilized.. after 6 or 7 attempts to catch this clever, elusive lady she will finally be vaccinated and sterilized before release ..
Friday- Soi Dog Foundation have very kindly said they can help Sushi and a very kind man is taking her to Phuket this morning… she will have first operation early next week- all being well.
If you can donate anything at all- please do…
The worst 24 hours- had a phone call from a resort where several street dogs live.. Sushi/ Gretel was wobbling around obviously very suddenly sick- turns out she has broken back right leg and dislocated back left.. she needs specialist orthopedic doctor… she’s 8 months old , sterilized and fully vaccinated – very tame- the sweetest girl.. I need a safe enclosed calm sheltered place for her until I can get her help.. a lift to Phuket if the Soi Dog Foundation can help me- Anybody going? And extra donations to pay for the vets…. I know it’s a lot to ask.. but I’m hoping some of you can help…??? There’s nothing can be done for her here so speed is of the essence….
Please direct message me if you’re able to help in any way….
